GLADNET focuses on the various aspects "Analytical Glow Discharge Spectroscopy" ranging from the physical and chemical properties of the analysed sample over plasma processes in the glow discharge to the study of the detection processes i.e. optical emission and mass spectrometry. The methods employed cover different approaches including model calculations and thorough experimental work. GLADNET's industrial partners focus their research work on particular applications of industrial interest and instrument development.

GLADNET provides excellent training and research opportunities for young researchers in physics, physical and analytical chemistry and material sciences, including special training courses and exchange programmes with young researchers within the network team.
